Daniel Harding has served as the pastor of Second Baptist since September of 2023. He and his wife, Christy, have 5 children, and one grandchild. Three of their children are still living locally and are part of Second Baptist. Daniel has loved the many years of serving in Student Ministry and UPWARD Basketball. He is excited about this opportunity to serve alongside so many people who love God and want to share His love with others.
In teaching, he desires to demonstrate the reality of God's presence in our lives through the stories and truth of Scripture. God is present and faithful.
Daniel has been on staff at Second Baptist for two different periods. From 2005-2011 he served as the Youth Pastor. Following pastoral service in a neighboring county, he rejoined Second Baptist as an Associate Pastor in 2014. Pastor Derwin Griffin retired in February of 2023 after 25 faithful years of ministry and the membership of Second Baptist chose Daniel to lead them in September of 2023.
