Bro. Joey Fitzgerald is originally from North Georgia but has called the Waycross area home since 2008. Before joining the ministry at Second Baptist Church, he spent 12 years as a middle school educator and athletics coach and later served as a Christian school headmaster for two years. His background in education and leadership has energized his love for students and the opportunities to minister with and to them.
At Second Baptist, Bro. Joey is committed to serving the Lord through student ministry, striving to glorify and promote His name by investing in the lives of students and their families. His passion for discipleship and mentorship helps guide young people in their faith journey, encouraging them to grow spiritually and live out their faith in everyday life.
Joey and his wife, Amy, are blessed with six children who are actively involved in the church, making faith and ministry a central part of their family life. Through his leadership, he loves and encourages our next generation of leaders and servants of Jesus.
